Stuffed dates are a versatile and simple appetizer that pairs well with any meal and is sure to impress! When wrapped with a salty slice of prosciutto they are the perfect balance of salty and sweet. Often you will find dates stuffed with nuts, but we wanted a nut free option since we have alot of nut allergies in our families. We decided on a citrus goat cheese because Nanna added orange zest to everything she could!
We recently attended a baby shower where bacon wrapped dates were served! We thought about how we could add a little Nanna to these. The goat cheese becomes warm and melty, and pairs perfectly with the crispy prosciutto and chewiness of the date.
Wise words from Nanna
Prosciutto- If given the option, choose imported Italian prosciutto. It is generally cured longer with less nitrates.
